Let them praise his name with dancing
Psalms 149:3
Let them praise his name with dancing
Psalms 149:3
Established to encourage worship of God through dance. We know this as Psalms 149:3 states, "Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp." Dance was intended by God as a means to praise him; yet in more contemporary times has been used sparingly as a means to worship him. Dancing is proven to lift our spirits and promote healthy mental and physical well-being. Psalms 30:11-12 also states, "You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy." Life Source Dance is mission-based and provides free facilitated worship dance to women and youth of all ages. Worship dance sessions are provided to all willing to learn with all levels of dance from never danced to more advanced and from all backgrounds and demographics to share with others and to provide a safe environment where anyone can feel free to express their emotions through dance. During sessions we will love and encourage one another through prayer and fellowship while studying God's word and learning a basic ballet-modern or contemporary hip hop worship dance.
My name is Lisa Parnell-Rowe. I am a grateful believer in God above. I have been through many life challenges and I struggle with co-dependency, forgiveness and selfishness. I am also a mother, a girlfriend, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a co-worker and so much more but most directly important to this mission is that I am a dancer. However, I am not just a typical dancer. I am a dancer for I AM. Here is my story
Life Source Dance has many people helping in several different ways to make the mission possible. Mrs. Laura Althoff, Minds in Motion, is a supporter of not only the mission but has greatly assisted me with marketing my classes and helping to finance a portion of the related fees. She and Sventastik Productions truly desire to give back to the community and do so through allowing this mission to occur on their dance floor and space. Without her valuable friendship and confidence in me it would be a much harder mission to achieve. Miss Natosha Gabel is a dedicated dancer with a deep spiritual connection to the lord above. She has helped to support dance choreography in the past and is a worship dance sister to me in my walk to encourage dance in all people. Miss Summer Parnell, my awesomely talented daughter. She contains a true talent for music and has helped me with much of the Youth dance choreography as well as to assist with classes and performances, when she is available (though she is presently in college). She, in fact, was my motivator and inspiration to also provide youth classes.
Encouraging worship of God through dance with the goal of making dance as God intended, a means to worship him while bettering ourselves mentally and physically.
Prayer: Classes will start with prayer and may be handled with anonymous slips in a basket passed out at the end or done in the moment if there is a special need or request. Depending on the size and mode (i.e., in person or online) of participants this may be handled differently. For those that are present we always form a circle to pray
